The next thing we’re going to do in this WordPress 3.9 Media Library seminar is add audio to a Page using the Media Library.
Let’s continue working on the same page. Click edit and we’re going to come down here and add audio. Click on Add media and again we’re going to upload files. I’ll select the file anthony-builds-a-website.
Again, my choices are embed a media player, link to a media file or link to an attachment page. I’m going to embed it in a media player so all we have to do here really is just insert it into the page and hit update. Let’s view the page and now this plays.
Let’s go edit that again page and edit the media file. Now that we’re in edit mode a different audio file can be chosen. You can, of course, leave the same thing in place but you can also replace the audio, you can also autoplay it.
Let’s back out of this and go back to the media library and open up it here and edit it. Under description is “anthony-builds-a-website” but you can add a caption as well. We can put metadata in for artist and album that sort of thing as well.
Let’s update that and refresh this page we embedded the audio in. Actually, we need to edit the page again and get the updated copy. So, add media, anthony-builds-a-website and insert into the post. Well, it turns out that it doesn’t add the caption so you’re going to have to include your own.
